What is Mindfulness?

​

Mindfulness is the practice of redirecting ones attention towards sensations and thoughts without judgement or belief in any of those sensations or thoughts. This practice disrupts the auto-pilot thinking and believing processes. Mindfulness liberates one from the cycle of subtle inner self harm. You would be surprised just how much we harm ourselves within the mind each time we judge something within us as not satisfactory, desire for some other experience or distract ourselves from vital information going on inside.

Grant is trained to facilitate Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and attended his training at Brown University's MBCT program. During a MBCT session, instead of believing in and investing in our thoughts and judgements as we would in a traditional talk therapy session, we would instead be investigating thoughts and judgements with a continuous practice of mindfulness. This helps us form a new relationship to our thoughts and freedom from the content of thoughts. At the end of the session, you will have the tools to see all your thoughts as thoughts, and be able to operate independently of them.

 

Coaching

Spiritual seekers from all religions, faiths, theoretical or practical orientations are welcome to participate in coaching sessions.

Even if you are just curious and have never heard of mindfulness before, it is never too late to start. It can also be a great addition or supplementation to any preexisting religion or spiritual practice.

​

Coaching sessions usually consist of goal setting and then choosing a practice or multiple practices to start incorporating on a regular basis to help achieve said goals. 

​

Whatever it is you are interested in spiritually, even if it has nothing to do with mindfulness, I have an open mind and a wide scope of competence in the arena of spirituality especially in the areas of Buddhism and Esotericism.

Coaching is different than psychotherapy as it is not confidential and not focused on mental health, but rather spiritual health, enlightenment, realization and meditation.
